Account and Course Access
What if I cannot log in?
If you are unable to log in, first verify that you are using the correct email address and password. If you continue to experience difficulties, use the password reset feature or contact Student Support.
How do I access my training course?
Log in to your Ontario Towing School account and select "My Courses" from your student dashboard.
Can I complete the course on a mobile device?
Yes. However, a desktop computer, laptop, or tablet is strongly recommended for the best learning experience.
Why is my account locked?
For security purposes, accounts may be temporarily locked following multiple unsuccessful login attempts.
Will my course access expire?
Course access remains available for the period specified during registration. Please refer to your student account for access details.

How long does the program take to complete?
Most students complete:

Online Training: Approximately 8 to 10 hours

Can I stop and continue later?
Yes. Your progress is automatically saved by the Learning Management System (LMS), allowing you to resume where you left off.

Course Requirements
Do I have to complete lessons in order?
Yes. Lessons and modules must be completed in the order presented.
Do I have to listen to the audio and watch videos?
Yes. All required audio narration, videos, and learning activities must be completed before a lesson is marked complete.
How is my progress tracked?
The Learning Management System (LMS) automatically records lesson completion, participation, Module Quiz results, and overall course progress.
What is the passing grade for Module Quizzes?
Students must achieve a minimum grade of 80% on each Module Quiz before advancing to the next module.
Can I retake a Module Quiz?
Yes. Students who do not achieve the required passing grade may retake the Module Quiz in accordance with Ontario Towing School policies.
Why does my training stop after five hours?
Ministry standards limit students to a maximum of five (5) hours of online instruction per day. Once the daily limit has been reached, students must continue their training on a subsequent day.
Are breaks required during online training?
Yes. Students must take a minimum five (5) minute break after every two (2) hours of online instruction.
Ontario Tow Truck Driver Certification Program
How does the certification process work?

Step 6: Receive a Certificate of Completion from Ontario Towing School.
Is the program online or hands-on?
Both. The program uses a hybrid training model that combines online learning with practical hands-on training.
Can I complete the online training with Ontario Towing School and complete the practical training with another training provider, or vice versa?
No.
Students must complete all required components of the Ontario Tow Truck Driver Certification Program through the same approved training provider.
Online training and practical training are delivered as a single integrated certification program. Ontario Towing School can only issue a Certificate of Completion for students who have successfully completed both the online and practical training components through Ontario Towing School.
Training completed with another provider cannot be combined with training completed through Ontario Towing School for certification purposes.
Can I transfer training completed with another provider?
No. Training completed through another provider cannot be transferred into the Ontario Towing School program.
Practical Training
When can I schedule practical training?
Practical training may be scheduled after all required online training has been successfully completed.
Where is practical training offered?
Ontario Towing School provides practical training opportunities throughout Central and Northern Ontario. Training locations may vary based on scheduling and student demand.
What should I bring to practical training?
Students should bring:

Safety glasses (recommended)
What happens if I arrive late?
Students who arrive late may not be permitted to participate and may be required to reschedule their practical training session.
Is practical training cancelled because of weather?
Practical training is conducted rain or shine unless weather conditions create an unsafe training environment.
Certification
Will I receive a certificate when I complete the program?
Yes. Ontario Towing School will issue a Certificate of Completion upon successful completion of all program requirements.
Is a Certificate of Completion the same as a Tow Driver Certificate?
No. A Certificate of Completion confirms successful completion of the training program. Additional requirements may apply before a Tow Driver Certificate is issued by the Ministry of Transportation.
How soon can I apply for my Tow Driver Certificate?
Students may apply for their Tow Driver Certificate after:

Successfully completing all required online training.

Successfully completing practical training.

Successfully completing the final certification examination.

Having their training completion reported to the Ministry of Transportation.
There is no mandatory waiting period.
Once Ontario Towing School has reported your successful completion and your training record has been updated in the Ministry's system, you may submit your Tow Driver Certificate application through the Ministry of Transportation's online portal.
Where do I apply for my Tow Driver Certificate?
After successfully completing all Ontario Towing School training requirements, students may apply for a Tow Driver Certificate through the Ministry of Transportation's Towing and Vehicle Storage Certificate Portal.
Application requirements, fees, and processing times are established by the Ministry of Transportation and may change from time to time.
